Celebrate Christmas with Kizi
Christmas is celebrated on the 25th of December, and in some countries the celebrations continue on the second day of Christmas. In Britain, the 26th of December is called Boxing Day, for instance, after the gift boxes that were given to tradesmen on the first working day after Xmas. Christmas is celebrated in a number of different ways in different places across the globe, and usually involves a mix of Christian, secular, and pre-Christian traditions. Well-known traditions include church services and nativity plays to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, gift giving and a special dinner with family and close friends. In some countries, these gifts are brought by Santa Claus, Father Christmas, or Saint Nicholas, while in other countries the Christkind is the traditional gift-giver. Gifts are often collected beneath a beautifully decorated Xmas tree that is often crowned with a star-shaped lamp or bauble to represent the Star of Bethlehem, or placed in shoes or knitted stockings by the mantlepiece. In the West, Christmas lights are traditionally removed on Candlemas or Twelfth Night.
